Ramzy's 4th birthday...in his birthday suit of course

It was big time at Chez Noakes on Sunday - Ramzy turned 4 and we jumped right into it.
Bowling was a side option - as Milo was present!
Lots of friends
A jumpy castle with rockets and space...Milo was in heaven

Parade Amsterdam 2010

Every August in the Netherlands they have this amazing festival called Parade - all old circus/fair stuff that they reuse - lots of fun.
Milo had a great time painting and building with Raya and Ramzy.

Once again thinking we have some sort of say with a 2, 3 and 4 yr old.

Fun in Amsterdam

Reading away a rainy afternoon!
The Orange family surrounded by Milo's favorite daily sighting - the street sweepers. He can't get enough and loves it when they are squirting water.
Amsterdam Sail

More bikes and boats...with milk and Mr. Comfort.

Bikes, boats and rocket - all three in daily lives!

We went to this amazing cafe on the northside of Amsterdam - bike ride, then boat ride - it was worth it when we launched Ramzy and Milo to the moon.
Sweet Samira has been so kind to pedal 3 kids in her bike - which is not easy, but Mr. Milo is just obsessed with the bucket-bike - Bucket-bike Malina coming soon! Here we are trying to manage the 2, 3 and 4 yr old...hahah.
An earlier boat ride out to some great vintage funriture warehouses...looking to fill up this big empty house!

Having 2 cameras makes it hard for continuity on the blog!

Best view ever - construction on the new playground below our house.
Thank you Holt's for taking care of us while we waited for our new place to get ready.
Milo is a great helper in the shops - busy, busy, busy. He hasn't taken anyone out with the basket...yet.

Pizza, presents and cake with our Amsterdam family!

Since Milo had a big Bowling bday bash before we left Texas, we did a traditional Dutch apple cake for this round - the whipping cream was the preferred part! Jake, Samira, Ramzy and Raya all came over to our new place and we had a great party, so great our neighbors below came up to find out what could possibly make that much noise...uhhhhhh...a 2, 3, and 4 year old can pretty much bring down the house!
Milo was showered with toys from the NOakes, mom and dad and the grand parents - our toy collection is rapidly meeting the Ramsey Ave level!
Milo's day started with a special construction kit from dad - there is a playground going in right in front of our house - every day we wake up to loud, busy trucks, diggers, cranes...Milo is very happy about it - his morning alarm clock.

Milo's 3rd Birthday

Hands down, August 17 is the best day in our book! We had a great day.
Started with a buffet breakfast on our buffet sized table!
Followed by a deep look into his last 3 years, what he's learned and lots of planning for what to play with next.

"My new house"

Our landlord's father made her this table and chest when she was a child and she was kind enough to share it with us - Milo loves it and well...we do to as it's the only dining area in the entire house as of now!
Milo's new Cozy Corner - we have added a very cool tent to the mix, will take a new pic soon.
It's Toy Central. We have a couch, desk, the childs table and A LOT of toys. Heaven for Milo. Not so much for the neighbors downstairs. The marbles, bowling pins and balls have been moved upstairs to the bedroom!

Thank you Lee and Clair

Lee and Clair,
Thank you for a great trip. It was so good to see familiar faces, terrorize your lovely child-less home and picnic/swim/eat sausage/eat sausage/eat sausage. I love you.
Milo

Berlin

We loved all the rough edges of Berlin - beautiful city, but really, super, great food - we had Thai food and Tex-Mex - yes Tex Mex that was actually good. 2 guys from Texas, 1 from Mexico - their moms send them chili's - heart and stomach warming.
The Broken Tooth Church - hands down the highlight of the trip for Milo - he is still talking about the "Broken Tooth" - he misses it.
Sweetness all around.

Key items to see Postam

Ahhh, my mighty John Deere, digging it's way across Europe.
Yes that is Mr. Comfort - he has become a daily accessory.

Cutest Guy in the World

Postam - August 2010

I like pretzels. And sausage. The German food has been good.
We went to this great kids museum with the largest greenhouse in Germany - it has a huge waterfall with a Geyser - Milo is still talking about how loud the geyser was!
OMG, he ate dad.
And then he had the nerve to go for Mr. Comfort, but I saved him just in time.
Sausage and potatos...and a dvd - serious chill out time...

Train to Berlin/Postdam to see Lee and Clair

A bike ride, picnic and swim with sweet Clair
Prep for swimming while snacking
Ice cream and fountains on the first night - wonderful hosts!
Milo kept saying "who were the people waving outside the train car when we got to Berlin?" I'd say Lee and Clair and he'd GRIN!
6 hour train ride - thank goodness for toys and dvd's - Milo was an excellent train traveler both ways.

Action Shots

Playing in The Dam

On your mark, get set...

Dive.
Jake and Samira have this amazing built in couch that the kids love to play on - Jake took it to the next level and turned the middle into a jumping pit - so fun.

Picnic dinner in Vondel Park with Ramzy and friend Athena - she brought her blow up lobster for the paddling pool - she had Ramzy and Milo pushing her around non-stop - smart Athena.

The garbage trucks here have been amazing - they come every day - plus Ramzy has "many" and Milo has been having some serious "garbage/recycle" play. Milo is also watching his All About Garbage /Recycling about 3x a day...he likes his trash, rubbish or garbage - whatever you fancy.
